Marissa Joye (Peden) Tremain
Raised in Wyoming, if I wasn’t frolicking in the mountains, I was writing, producing, and directing my friends in front of our home VHS camcorder. My lifelong obsession with visual storytelling continued at Dickinson College in Pennsylvania where I studied Film and American Studies. This degree gave me the tools to produce and see images and media representations in a broader social context. I acquired a deep knowledge of how social conventions historically played out in imagery and media. This intellectual background laid a foundation to create imagery and content that is not just aesthetically aspirational, but also has greater underlying messages that comment on current systems of power and art.
